Project love
A community (and sometimes art or creative) outreach project.
Project Love was launched in 2005. It began giveaways to low-income families and their kids on major holidays such as—Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas. Toys, back-to-school stationery, food, vouchers or things such as green or red packets were given out along with the symbol of Project Love: a hand written card and paper mache hearts.
The regular cycle of giveaways became a culture, and eventually, even when Change Our World went on an organization hiatus 2010 - 2017, our volunteers kept the tradition alive. Each time is different, and each time our volunteers do what they can to really connect with recipients. Whether it’s going the extra mile to find out what presents recipients need or toys our COW kids are dreaming of having, or creating art projects that express our love for recipients.
We've even had a few overseas collaborations—such as sending clothing aid and giving art lessons to kids in Riau, Indonesia, (read here.) and buying fleece jackets sized to every child in Center of Hope in Mozambique (read here).
